Niche underwriter Calliden has begun integrating the newly acquired assets of Australian Unity General Insurance, beginning with the workforce.

Calliden says Australian Unity staff have accepted employment offers with the new owner as it prepares to rebrand the business Calliden Insurance Limited.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority approved the $62.5 million acquisition of Australian Unity in July. The deal also included Calliden taking over the target’s 50% stake in New Zealand-based insurer Farmers Mutual Insurance Limited.
