Builder partners with RACQ in ‘event-prone’ Queensland
Johns Lyng Group has agreed a one-year deal with RACQ to provide building and restoration services for insurance claims across Queensland.
The deal includes standard claims as well as those made during peak weather events such as fires, storms and floods.
CEO Scott Didier says the state is strategically important for the Johns Lyng business.
“It is prone to significant weather events, so this contract will help us leverage our market-leading capability to respond and support Queenslanders when these events occur,” he said.
Johns Lyng’s earnings received a boost from work orders after the Townsville floods and Sydney hailstorm, and the volume of work rose again following last summer’s bushfires and hailstorms.
The company counts several major insurance companies among its customers, including Chubb, CHU and Westpac, as well as local and state governments, body corporates and retail customers.
