Brisbane flood modeller announces expansion plans
Brisbane-based FloodMapp has announced plans to launch in NSW and the US after securing $1.3 million in funding from investors.
The flood modelling firm will showcase its software products this week at the InsureTech Connect conference in Las Vegas.
FloodMapp says its real-time predictive flood and hazard mapping platform will help insurers respond quickly to disasters.
“FloodMapp’s rapid flood models can run instantly, in seconds or milliseconds, rather than 24 hours, which traditional industry standard 2D models often need,” CEO and co-founder Juliette Murphy said
“Each hour of flooding can mean millions of dollars in damage, so speed and accuracy are key.
“This can save insurance companies internal time and resources, and improve customer experience in the moments that matter.”
