CA Insurance Brokers has joined Gallagher’s Brisbane office in a deal which expands the global broker’s presence and capabilities in Queensland.

Gallagher MD Specialisms Paul Harvey says the current uncertainty for small business makes it an ideal time for acquisitions.

“Increased presence and bench strength in both Brisbane and Queensland enables us to diversify our business insurance offering, which is important at a time when many business owners are navigating through a period of increased complexity and heightened uncertainty,” he said.

CA Insurance owner and director Andrew Howard will continue at Gallagher.

Formerly part of the Steadfast Group, the brokerage has a “solid reputation” specialising in commercial transport, construction, earthmoving and professional risks, Mr Harvey says.

Gallagher was attracted to the eight-person mid-market broker’s “broad and diverse” client portfolio, which spans transport, engineering, aged care, seafood industries and professional services.
