Broker BMS Group has appointed Brett Field as CEO of its Australian office.

Mr Field, who has 25 years’ experience in the Australian and New Zealand wholesale markets, joins from Insurance Market Facilities Wholesale Broking, where he was MD and a minority shareholder.

He told insuranceNEWS.com.au BMS was “certainly interested” in acquiring Insurance Market Facilities, but “the other parties didn’t want to play ball”. He remains a shareholder.

“We have a good team [at BMS] so it’s onwards and upwards,” he said. “I can’t wait to get moving.”

BMS Group CEO Nick Cook says Mr Field is “well known and respected” in Australasian and London markets.

“His appointment represents an important stage of our international development in the Asia-Pacific region.”
