Blampied named regional chief in Aon restructure

Aon has appointed Geoff Blampied as Asia Pacific (APAC) Chairman in a restructure that brings the commercial risk solutions, health solutions and affinity teams together across the region.

Mr Blampied has been with Aon for more than two decades. He now takes on the wider responsibilities after holding the role of Pacific Chairman. He will continue as New Zealand CEO, based in Auckland.

“Aon Pacific has been a success and we look forward to extending that success to Asia Pacific,” Mr Blampied said.

Sandeep Malik will lead the combined region as CEO after joining the company in 2010 as Asia CEO.

“This approach is designed to strengthen collaboration, accelerate growth, leverage economies of scale and more closely reflect the geographic structures of clients, insurers, partners and key trends in the region,” Aon Co-Presidents Eric Andersen and Mike O’Connor said.

There are no personnel changes for Aon Australia, a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
