BHSI unveils new construction team

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has unveiled the executive team to oversee its construction cover business in Australia.

As recently reported in insuranceNEWS.com.au, former national manager construction and engineering at IAG Cameron Holmes has been appointed Construction Manager.

His team includes: Underwriting Manager Construction Rob McNab (previously southern region manager, construction and engineering at CGU); Senior Underwriter Casualty Mark Thompson (formerly senior casualty underwriter at AIG); Risk Engineering Manager Patrick Whyte (previously senior risk engineer at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty); and Claims Manager David Cook (formerly senior claims specialist at Suncorp).

Australasia President Chris Colahan says the team will build on BHSI’s capabilities in project professional liability, led by Matthew Clarke, and marine project cargo, led by Dimitry Zilberud.

“Our team is rich in construction insurance experience and ready to provide sound, creative capacity and meaningful risk engineering to this important sector,” Mr Colahan said.

The team is based in BHSI’s Sydney office, except for Mr McNab, who will work from the Melbourne office.
