Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has named Jonathan Griffiths as Head of Surety Australia to oversee its launch into the market.

The business will focus on large and mid-sized contractors as it seeks to build up its base. BHSI already provides surety solutions in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and Asia.

“We are pleased to expand our surety footprint and our team into Australia,” Australasia President Mark Lingafelter said.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Sydney-based Mr Griffiths started last month.

He was previously head of surety Asia Pacific at Liberty International Underwriters.
