Barber targets Willis Towers Watson growth

Willis Towers Watson has a golden opportunity to grow its share of the Australasian market, according to new boss Tony Barber.

Mr Barber took over as Willis CEO from the retiring Roger Wilkinson, and has now been promoted to Regional Head of Australasia for Willis Towers Watson, leading a combined team of 700.

He told insuranceNEWS.com.au the organisations are complementary, with very little crossover, so can offer a much broader range of services and solutions.

“The merger of two great companies gives us size and scale and the opportunity to do things that Willis and Towers Watson couldn’t on their own.

“It gives us opportunities to invest in areas that we haven’t invested in as much as we should have, and to invest in our people.”

Mr Barber says growth is a target, with acquisitions on the agenda.

Willis Towers Watson will continue to focus on the key services and solutions offered by its predecessor companies, including corporate risk brokerage, superannuation, employee benefits and human resource services, investment, risk and reinsurance.
