Axa fills key roles in Asia and Europe unit

Axa XL has filled up key roles in its Asia and Europe Business Unit, following the implementation this month of the insurer’s new operating model.

The new model groups Australia under Asia and Europe.

Asia and Europe CEO Xavier Veyry says the business has found the right people within its organisation to lead the underwriting, captives and claims capabilities in the regions.

The appointments are:

  • Marine Charbonnier, Global Programs & Captives Director
  • Mathieu Daubin, Chief Underwriting Officer, Marine
  • Yannick Daucourt, Chief Underwriting Officer, Specialty
  • Simona Fumagalli, Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Financial Lines
  • Michael Maier, Chief Underwriting Officer, Aerospace and Underwriting Manager, Aerospace, Switzerland
  • Daniel Maurer, Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty
  • Laurent Richème, Chief Underwriting Officer, Property, Construction, Energy
  • Corinne Southarewsky, Chief Claims Officer

Axa XL also appointed country leaders in key European and Asian markets. In Asia, James Chambers is Country Leader for Hong Kong, Andrew Vigar for Japan and Kevin Leong for Singapore.

A spokesman for Axa XL previously told insuranceNEWS.com.au the insurer expects to announce a country leader for Australia, in the near future.

The spokesman said Sydney-based Regional Manager Asia Pacific Craig Langham has been looking after the market since Australia Country Head Robin Johnson left in May.
