Medical defence insurer Avant has appointed Andrew Boldeman as its new CEO, effective from August 26.

Mr Boldeman was previously CEO of TAL’s group life division and chief actuary. He has also held senior roles at management consultancy Tillinghast Towers Perrin and AMP.

He replaces David Nathan, who stepped down in May.
