Australian Unity reports general insurance gains

Australian Unity increased general insurance revenue by 83% to $760,000 in the six months to December 31, after renegotiating a key distribution agreement.

The healthcare, retirement and financial services company has reported a profit of $11.9 million for the period, up 90%.

MD Rohan Mead says each of the businesses reported solid revenue growth.

“We have been focused on growing revenues and developing diverse income streams outside the traditional private health insurance business for a number of years now, and we are seeing the benefits of this strategy,” he said.
