Australian Unity ponders next move
Australian Unity has distributed a report to its members on the merits of remaining as a mutual or de-mutualising. The report is the result of a board commitment to members last year and says prospects for the group are sound and its operational activities are of good quality.
The report contains three independent assessments on company valuation, indicative share allocation outcomes and taxation implications.
Chairman Alan Castleman says he sees no compelling business reason to demutualise.
