Australian Unity announces restructure

Australian Unity has unveiled a restructure aimed at capitalising on growth opportunities.

It has streamlined its business operations with the creation of three platforms to focus on customer needs.

The platforms are:

  • Retail: general insurance and broking, banking and private health insurance
  • Wealth and capital markets: financial advice, life cover and superannuation, property, investments and trustee services
  • Independent and assisted living: home and disability services, retirement living and health services.

The retail platform will be led by Matt Walsh, who has been promoted from GM Life and Super.

The wealth and capital markets and independent and assisted living platforms will continue to be led by David Bryant and Kevin McCoy respectively.

A dedicated customer and digital office has been established and Amanda Hagan, currently CEO Healthcare, will become Chief Customer Officer and Group Executive, Digital.

The changes will be implemented from January 1.

“We need to invest more into areas such as customer experience and our digital capabilities, as well as improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations,” Group MD Rohan Mead said.
