Austbrokers widens its reach
Broking network Austbrokers has added yet more names to its list of acquisitions. The group has taken a 50% stake in Brisbane brokerage DF McGarry and Associates, and one of its members is joining forces with the RetireInvest franchise of financial advisers.
Established in 1973, DF McGarry and Associates is an SME specialist with a premium pool of about $8 million. Founder Dermot McGarry is stepping down after 34 years.
Meanwhile, Austbrokers’ regional member Austbrokers Stateplan has formed a strategic joint venture alliance with the RetireInvest franchises of Wagga Wagga and Albury Wodonga.
MD Andrew Locke says the move will give clients access to a wider range of products and services.
Austbrokers Stateplan is the second Austbrokers member to partner with a RetireInvest franchise.
