Austbrokers on acquisition trail
The Austbrokers Group has formed an equity partnership with Sydney-based brokerage Salisbury Payne Tinslay, a former member of fellow cluster IBNA.
Austbrokers is expected to float at some time in the future, but it’s obviously not distracting the group. CEO Lach McKeough says its charter to grow the business through acquisition “is certainly continuing, and we are constantly in discussion with potential equity partners”.
Salisbury Payne Tinslay directors Phil Tinslay and Tom Payne say the decision to become involved in a partnership with Austbrokers was a result of common approaches with Austbrokers, including a common IT platform, similar growth philosophies and an integrated financial services strategy.
Another director, Brian Salisbury, says part of the brokerage’s growth plan lies in life insurance and financial planning. “Austbrokers has a very focused strategy in providing assistance in developing integrated financial services for their equity partners, and we see this as a huge opportunity to further expand going forward.”
