AUB names Tysers and UK retail heads

AUB Group has appointed Tom Wilson as Tysers CEO and Bob Pybus as UK retail CEO.

Mr Wilson will take over from group CEO Michael Emmett, who held the Tysers role on an interim basis following Clive Buesnel’s departure last year.

He will be based in London and is tasked with driving the growth of wholesale broking operations including marine, aviation, property and casualty, specialty and the Tysers Live business. He previously served as head of Tysers’ marine and aviation division.

Mr Pybus, who previously headed Tysers Retail, will lead AUB Group’s expansion into the UK market through its retail broking division.

“Tom and Bob have played significant roles in Tysers’ success story and are uniquely placed to steer the Tysers and UK retail businesses through their next stages of growth,” Mr Emmett said. “They have deep market knowledge, a commitment to superior client service and are proven, strategic leaders.”

AUB has flagged plans to grow its UK operations after delivering positive earnings results, including an underlying net profit of $171 million last financial year.

The group acquired Tysers in 2022 for $880 million and has since made several moves to further its presence in the UK.
