Steadfast has appointed Arch Underwriting at Lloyd’s (Australia) as a strategic partner.

Arch Underwriting Regional Director Adam Matteson says the move gives his group “a great platform from which to develop a deeper relationship with all of the Steadfast fraternity, from both the broking side and also the agency side”.

He says initial product marketing to Steadfast members will be on current work in commercial property.

“The longer-term ambition is to develop a local suite of products that mirrors what we offer in London, but with local people on the ground here.”

Arch Underwriting says the partnership is a natural fit, and it appreciates the support of individual Steadfast brokers and agencies since it started writing business in Australia in 2010.

Mr Matteson considers it an exciting time for the move, because “there’s a lot of focus at the moment on opportunities and with particular alternative carriers. And certainly Lloyd’s syndicated services companies are seen as solid alternative carriers in the current marketplace.”
