Aon has introduced pollution liability insurance, covering businesses that accidentally harm the environment.

The policy is a combination of statutory liability, workplace health and safety, and environmental incident response. It is expected to be used by manufacturing, construction, transport and logistics companies.

It will offer access to environmental specialist advice, emergency response costs, investigation and clean-up costs, third-party injury compensation, and public relations and crisis management services.

“Pollution incidents are costly, complicated and can take a long time to resolve,” Head of Environmental Services Group Cami Mok said.

“However, the environmental incident response extension will be an enormous benefit to companies exposed to environment and pollution risks.”
