Specialist underwriting agency Australian Owner Builders Insurance Services (AOBIS) has extended its portfolio to include owner-builder construction and public liability cover from Calliden.

MD Philip Graf says his business has enjoyed a strong working partnership with Calliden since launching in 2008.

“Calliden is more attuned to the owner-builder market – it understands it better than most insurers because it has been involved in this market for such a long time,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“For Calliden, the owner-builder market is not a side issue.”

Mr Graf expects a “seamless integration” of Calliden’s construction and public liability insurance into the AOBIS portfolio.

He says AOBIS will also have access to niche products and services from the insurer.
