Leading faith, care and community insurer Ansvar has expanded into the strata market, although its offering is not available in north Queensland.

The insurer says it has teamed up with underwriting agency CSI Strata Underwriting “to offer insurance solutions to strata communities across Australia”.

A spokesman confirmed to insuranceNEWS.com.au the policies are not currently available in the difficult north Queensland market, although they will be in the future.

“Exact timing is still unconfirmed,” the spokesman said.

Ansvar CEO Warren Hutcheon says strata is one of the nation’s fastest-growing sectors.

“Ansvar’s strengths in providing the most robust risk and insurance solutions to properties in other sectors makes the strata community a logical addition,” he said.

CSI Strata Underwriting services more than 120 strata insurance brokers. Mr Hutcheon says it has “a formidable footprint in this country”.

The Ansvar-underwritten product is available through CSI with immediate effect. The agency’s GM, John Lillie, says Ansvar’s experience and strength means broader cover with higher limits can be provided.

He told insuranceNEWS.com.au the company will also continue to be underwritten by Assetinsure.

“The Ansvar agreement is for the higher limits beyond the capacity that Assetinsure provides,” he said.
