Former software company executive Andrew Moon has been appointed CEO of Ansvar Insurance, joining the community and faith insurance specialist at the start of next month.

Mr Moon was CEO of software solutions company Billback Systems, and has held a number of roles in financial services including executive positions at Tower Australia and Colonial State Bank.

He is also a former chairman of the Parkinson’s Association of NSW and President of Parkinson’s Australia.

Mr Moon replaces John Peberdy, who will retire from Ansvar at the end of the month after 12 years in the top job.

Ansvar Insurance board members and parent company Ecclesiastical Insurance Group have welcomed Mr Moon’s appointment.

“Andrew’s values are closely aligned with the Ecclesiastical values,” Ansvar Chairman Murray Baird said. “Andrew will provide clear leadership to the company in serving its core markets in faith, heritage, education, care and community service.”
