AMP seeks London Listing

AMP’s plan to become listed on the London Stock Exchange will allow the Australian financial services giant to access global capital and cut costs, thanks to Britain’s lower corporate taxes. That’s good for AMP shareholders, but bad for the Australian taxman. AMP has several suitable asset management companies in its sights.

The company already has three retail brands in the UK – Pearl, NPI and London Life. Tom Fraser, the MD of AMP UK Financial Services, said the brands will be relaunched at the end of the year as AMP Pearl, AMP NPI and AMP London Life.
