Allianz has formed a new business unit within its broker and agency division to focus on the mid-corporate segment of the commercial insurance market.

The Tailored Underwriting Solutions unit will be led by current GM Corporate Brokers and New Zealand Mike Pocknee.

Chief GM Broker & Agency David Hosking says the business is “central to Allianz’s growth”.

“By setting up a team dedicated to writing those commercial insurance risks that require bespoke underwriting solutions, we are confident of… increasing our share of this market segment,” he said.

Key products in the class include industrial special risks, standalone liability and professional indemnity, commercial motor fleet and construction and engineering.

Mr Pocknee’s successor as corporate brokers manager has yet to be announced.
