Allianz recruits internally for new Australia CFO

Newly appointed Allianz Australia CFO Wolfgang Deichl will start on November 15, taking over from Paul Harvey, who has been overseeing the role on an interim basis, the insurer announced last week.

Mr Harvey has been acting CFO since May following the departure of Mark Raumer. He will return to his previous role of Financial Controller.

Mr Deichl joins from Allianz Germany, where he has been Chief Accountant and Chief Actuary since 2016.

In his current roles, he is responsible for the financial reporting of more than 200 legal entities that make up the Allianz Germany Group, as well as the reserving and actuarial functions for the Life, Health and Property & Casualty insurance carriers within the business.

“This appointment reinforces Allianz’s presence and importance in the Australian market,” Allianz Australia MD Richard Feledy said.

“[Mr Deichl] brings to Allianz Australia his extensive experience in senior financial and risk advisory roles at Allianz Group, which will help in strengthening and growing local operations, allowing the broader team to deliver on our strategic objectives of offering customer-centric, simplified products and services.”
