Allianz Australia will roll out flood cover for commercial package clients from September.

The company will offer the flood option on commercial packages around the country and allow policyholders to opt out of cover.

Allianz introduced flood cover with an opt-out option for residential customers earlier this year.

The company says in a note to brokers that it plans to have flood cover available in all states by September.

However, there is an exception. Allianz has imposed a moratorium on writing new flood cover in the western Queensland towns of Emerald and Roma.
