Alliance Insurance Broking Services has acquired the client base of fellow Melbourne firm Overton Insurance Brokers.

The deal was effective last Thursday for an undisclosed sum.

Alliance MD Rennie DeMaria says the deal adds a book of smaller general insurance clients to his client base.

The firm also plans to extend into the financial planning and life product arena.
