Mike Raines is the new CEO of AIG Insurance New Zealand.

He will also serve as deputy head of the “Australasia cluster”, which comprises Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Mr Raines previously led AIG’s Singapore operations as CEO of AIG Asia-Pacific Insurance, and he is also a former CEO of AIG Insurance Hong Kong.

Other previous roles with the group include regional VP commercial lines for Japan and South Korea, and assistant MD South Africa.

Matt Harris, the head of AIG’s southeast Asia cluster, will succeed Mr Raines in Singapore.

He will retain responsibility for the cluster, which comprises Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Guam and now Singapore.
