Underwriting agency Agile has launched a leisure travel product, including “comprehensive” covid cover, to be distributed by brokers.

The insurer says the Travel by Us product is backed by Lloyd’s, and offers four levels of cover.

“Travel insurance was hit hard during the pandemic and there’s been a void in the market for brokers with some key players pulling products altogether,” Agile Co-founder Ben Webster said.

Policies will cover covid medical claims for travellers while overseas, providing they are up-to-date with covid vaccinations. They also offer cancellation cover for customers who catch covid 14 days before their trip. Click here for more detail.

Additional packages are available providing cover for snow, adventure, gadget and rental car excess reduction.

Mr Webster says the product has sparked rising interest since its launch and Agile will continue to improve it ahead of expectations of a travel boom as covid regulations continue to ease.

“We are monitoring the response to the product very closely and will be making adjustments based on feedback from brokers and customers over the next few months.”
