Willem van Wyk begins his role as CEO of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Pacific today.

In April insuranceNEWS.com.au reported that Mr Wyk was to replace CEO Holger Schaefer, who was made Regional CEO of Asia Pacific for Allianz Group company Euler Hermes.

Mr Wyk joined Allianz in May 2008 as head of market management for AGCS Pacific and in April 2015 was appointed CEO of AGCS Dubai.

He was previously head of business development at Marsh in Dubai and regional manager for Commercial Union in South Africa.
