Australian brokers now have access to standardised forms for home and personal motor insurance under new templates approved by the Association for Co-operative Operations Research and Development (ACORD).

Standards application forms for home and personal motor insurance and a new template for personal motor vehicle schedule are the latest forms to be released by ACORD.

Program Manager Alan Stitzer says 16 forms have been approved since ACORD commenced work on new standardised documents late last year. The forms are standardised across electronic and hard copy formats.

“It’s been a long process, but it’s always been part of what we wanted to do here,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“Brokers especially wanted us to take a look at this.”

ACORD also recently began work on forms for premium funders and remittance advisers, but Mr Stitzer says no timeframe for their release has been scheduled.
