AAMI wades through Sydney hail claims
AAMI has paid more than $30 million for claims arising from December’s Sydney hailstorm.
More than 26,000 motor claims were filed after the storm, which caused $1.19 billion of damage, according to the Insurance Council of Australia.
AAMI has completed 40% of all car claims. Of the vehicles scheduled for repair, 80% will be completed by the end of July, Head of Claims Michael Miller says.
Six motor vehicle assessment and repair centres have been established since the storm.
AAMI hopes to have 80% of home repairs started or finished by the end of this month. More than 96% of home assessments have been completed, it says.
