360 Underwriting acquires NZ agency Rosser

360 Underwriting Solutions has expanded in New Zealand with the acquisition of the Rosser Underwriting agency, building on its purchase earlier this year of TLC Insurance.

Rosser Underwriting, which is focused on SMEs and not-for-profit organisations, has more than 30 employees located in Auckland, Hamilton, Hawke’s Bay, Palmerston North and Christchurch.

360 Director Chris Lynch, who co-founded 360 Underwriting with business partner Denis Morrissey, says the Rosser purchase is a key component of an expansion strategy for New Zealand.

“While we have no plans for merging our two New Zealand businesses, we look forward to our combined operations ultimately providing brokers with enhanced service and a wider range of solutions for their clients,” he said.

360 has purchased all of the shares of the current Rosser shareholders, apart from a 10% holding retained by founder and MD Murray Rosser.

The business says the acquisition complements its purchase of 75% in Tauranga-based mobile plant and heavy machinery specialist TLC. That deal marked 360’s move into New Zealand, providing a strategic platform for an expanded presence.

360 has continued to pursue growth opportunities since AUB Group last year acquired a majority stake through a new General Commercial Underwriting division that also brought in a number of AUB agencies.
