3D scanners to speed AAMC hail repairs
AAMC will add 3D scanning technology to its repair management models under a partnership with Hail.com.
The motor repair management group says the technology is expected to cut policyholder waiting times for inspection appointments “by weeks, if not months”.
Scans will enable fast and accurate identification of hail damage on vehicles.
AAMC national operations manager Luke Hill says the partnership represents a step towards faster, more reliable repairs.
“We’re setting a new industry standard that prioritises convenience, accuracy and quality, while enabling AAMC to deploy our technical assessing resources more effectively,” he said.
Hail.com director Joel Knott says 3D scanning is designed to address “inefficiencies, inaccuracies, inherent delays and administrative costs” around hail damage assessment.
