Calliden has confirmed that Lloyd’s syndicate RJ Kiln will continue to be the lead Lloyd’s underwriter for Mansions of Australia as the company moves to reposition the prestige home product.

Group Marketing and Distribution Director Mike Hooton says recent discussions with the Lloyd’s underwriters showed they are “very comfortable” with Calliden’s plans for the company.

“Their reaction is a vindication of what we want to do with Mansions,” he said. “We’ve concentrated on making this a high net worth product that’s low maintenance for brokers.”

Mr Hooton says the Mansions product now includes a large number of enhancements. Calliden’s research showed brokers want the company to “take a less rigid approach without compromising on quality”.

The Mansions operation is now being managed by underwriter Ian Mabbutt.
