Suncorp-owned authorised representative (AR) distributor Resilium is launching a broking arm, Resilium Insurance Broking (RIB).

The brokerage will be managed by former Austbrokers manager Greg Arms, and will be a member of the Steadfast broker group.

Resilium MD Gerard McDermott says the new business “will significantly enhance the value proposition of advisers – providing ‘one-stop-shop’ access to comprehensive general insurance and enabling them to provide a quality holistic service to their customers and tailor solutions to meet their needs”.

“Resilium advisers are a critical part of our current and future distribution strategy and advisers who join the RIB business will have the opportunity to enhance their customer offering.”

Mr McDermott says Resilium’s business vision is to be the leading general insurance AR network in Australia.

“In order to realise this vision we have recognised the need to strengthen and broaden our business model so that we can better support the objectives of our existing advisers and continue to attract new advisers.”

Mr Arms, who will be MD of the new operation, was GM of Partner Development at Austbrokers, where he worked for the past 17 years.
