Niran Peiris has been appointed as the next MD of Allianz Australia to succeed long-serving MD Terry Towell.

He currently holds the positions of Chief GM Retail Distribution and CEO of Allianz Australia Life Insurance.

Mr Peiris joined Allianz Australia in 2000, before being appointed as CFO in 2002, a position he held until 2009. Prior to joining Allianz, he had more than 15 years’ experience in insurance and finance.

He will take up the MD’s role on January 1.
