IAG changes executive team
IAG has appointed Commercial Insurance CEO Peter Harmer to the new role of Chief Digital Officer as it pours more resources into its digital strategy.
IAG Commercial Insurance Chief Commercial Officer Ben Bessell will become Acting CEO of the business while Mr Harmer leads the digital strategy over the rest of this year.
Mr Harmer may then move back into the role.
IAG this morning announced a raft of management changes to take effect on March 31.
Leona Murphy will resume the role of Chief Strategy Officer while retaining her current responsibility for managing IAG’s move to its new operating model and the integration of the Wesfarmers business.
IAG Chief Risk Officer Justin Breheny will retire in April and acting Chief Strategy Officer Clayton Whipp will take on his role.
Mr Harmer’s new position sits alongside CFO Nick Hawkins, Ms Murphy and Mr Whipp and he will continue to report directly to MD and CEO Mike Wilkins.
Mr Bessell became Chief Commercial Officer for IAG Commercial last August. He was previously GM Broker & Agency, GM Workers’ Compensation and GM of CGU Claims in the commercial business.
