Arthur J Gallagher has announced the appointment of Sarah Lyons as its new CEO, following the departure of Andrew Godden.

Ms Lyons, previously MD Commercial Broking, will take up the new position immediately following “an extensive recruitment campaign”.

Mr Godden, who had led the business since 2010, resigned in May to become Australian CEO for BMS Group.

MD AU/NZ Steve Lockwood says Ms Lyons has played an “impressive role” in turning around the Commercial Broking division over the past 18 months.

“Sarah comes from a background of senior corporate and commercial insurance roles in the UK and is already known to our insurance and underwriting partners, who can rest assured that the team is being led by someone who truly understands the Gallagher way of doing business,” he said.
