AIMS picks experienced broker as GM
Glenn Schultz, the EGM Wholesale Broking of underwriting agency Quanta, is to be the next GM of major insurance broking group Austbrokers & IBNA Member Services (AIMS).
He succeeds Martin McAvenna, who will retire on June 30.
The appointment was announced at the AIMS Conference in Barcelona overnight by AIMS Board Chairman and Austbrokers Holdings CEO Mark Searles and IBNA Chairman Gary Gribbin.
Mr Schultz will join AIMS on May 16 and formally take over from Mr McAvenna on July 1.
Mr Searles says he and Mr Gribbin “knew we would have a difficult job on our hands to find a replacement of Martin McAvenna’s calibre”.
“We are delighted to have attracted someone of Glenn’s stature and experience to the role [and] look forward to working with Glenn to build on Martin’s strong foundations.”
Mr Schultz has more than 35 years’ experience in insurance and reinsurance broking and is an executive director of the Coverforce Group, the parent company of Quanta.
Prior to joining Coverforce in September 2012 he had spent nine years at Aon Risk Services managing market placement and product design and development. He has also held senior roles with JLT as CEO Lloyd Thompson Australia, Sedgwick and John C Lloyd Reinsurance.
