AIG Australia CEO Nigel Fitzgerald to become Steadfast COO
AIG Australia CEO Nigel Fitzgerald will leave the company to join Steadfast as COO, effective from the second quarter of next year.
Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly says Mr Fitzgerald is a highly respected CEO with 25 years’ experience across all general insurance sectors in Asia, London, the US and Australia.
“Nigel brings an extensive and diverse range of skills that complement Steadfast’s revenue streams,” Mr Kelly said today. "We are delighted to have such a high calibre executive further strengthen Steadfast’s executive team.”
Mr Fitzgerald, who is based in Sydney, has been AIG CEO since December 2019, when he took over from Noel Condon. Previously he was Fairfax International Australasia CEO and prior to that he was CEO of Advent Capital Holdings in London, and from 1999 to 2010 held senior roles at Liberty International Underwriters.
At Steadfast he will take over as COO from Samantha Hollman, who has accepted a new position as Steadfast International Insurance Assets CEO, starting March 1.
“I’d like to congratulate Samantha on her new role and I welcome Nigel to Steadfast Group,” Mr Kelly said.
AIG confirmed Mr Fitzgerald "has announced his intention to leave AIG Australia".
"He will continue to lead the Australian business until his departure," a spokesperson told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
"Nigel has made an incredible impact on the Australian business during his tenure. We wish him all the very best."
