QBE staff training program wins award

QBE and consulting group Be Learning won the “best learning organisation” prize at the Australian Institute of Training and Development Excellence Awards, for their Customers Are Really Everything (CARE) program.

The program aims to build staff confidence and “people skills”, and is part of a wider customer-led transformation process across the insurer’s business.

QBE Australia and New Zealand Operations Chief Human Resources Officer Sally Kincaid says CARE “helps our people to develop resilience, think on their feet, problem-solve and ensure we place the customer at the heart of everything we do”.

QBE’s property and motor claims teams in New Zealand will introduce CARE before the new year, with Australian claims teams to follow next year.

Other areas of the business have signalled interest in implementing similar programs.

The Australian Institute of Training and Development is a non-profit group that fosters individual and organisational learning.
