Organisers delight in diversity festival success

The Lloyd’s-inspired Dive In diversity and inclusion festival has been hailed a huge success in Australia and New Zealand.

Events took place over three days last month in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland and Wellington.

“We are delighted to report we had more than 1000 attendees,” Lloyd’s General Representative in Australia Chris Mackinnon told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Topics aligned with this year’s global theme #time4inclusion, and included discussions around unconscious bias, LGBTIQ+, mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inclusion, inclusive leadership and multiculturalism.

“The industry response to the festival has been extraordinary and is growing every year,” Mr Mackinnon said. “This year we had more than 30 different organisations involved in the planning, sponsorship and delivery of the festival.

“As a result of discussions held during the festival, we are very excited about a number of initiatives under way involving our senior industry leaders, which we will be announcing very soon.”
