CGU-backed equality campaign takes another lap

The CGU-sponsored “Move In May” fun run returns to Melbourne’s Botanic Gardens on Sunday, supporting efforts to prevent discrimination against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community in sport.

The ticketed walk or run around the famous Tan Track, organised by Stand Up Events, raises funds for educational programs in community clubs, and demonstrates public support for inclusion.

“We know inequality exists within the Australian sporting culture,” Stand Up Events CEO Angie Greene said.

“CGU’s Move In May is about saying there is zero room for discrimination against the LGBTIQ community.”

The event, which debuted last year, coincides with the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. Participants will begin their 4km or 8km events from 11am.
