ANZIIF unveils new board

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) introduced its new board for 2016 at its annual general meeting last week.

They include new board member Austbrokers Countrywide MD Tim Considine (who commenced his term in January) and Steadfast EGM Direct & New Zealand Allan Reynolds as Deputy Chairman.

IAG New Zealand Chief Risk Officer Karl Armstrong will stay on for another term as President.

Other members of the 2016 board are Jonathan Fox, GM Elders Insurance (immediate past president); Paul Allison, Principal & COO Guy Carpenter; Andrew Bart, CEO Crawford & Company Australia; Megan Beer, Director of Insurance AMP; Daniel Fogarty, consultant; Tony Lee, Executive Director Seascope Risk Services; Callan McDonnell, Executive Manager Learning Campus, Commercial Insurance Learning & Development Suncorp; Paul Munton, EGM Rothbury Insurance Brokers, New Zealand; and Prue Willsford, CEO ANZIIF.

Departing directors were acknowledged at the AGM. They are Deputy President Heinrich Eder of Munich Re, Colin Fagen of QBE and Frank Crapis, of CommInsure.

ANZIIF Fellow Alan Brown was recognised for his work mentoring and supporting young insurance professionals and for his contribution to the development of education materials for ANZIIF students in Papua New Guinea. He was presented with the ANZIIF Service Award.

Industry veteran Tony Morgan, a former ANZIIF president, was recognised for his contribution to ANZIIF with honorary membership of the institute. Mr Morgan is also a former president of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters
