NSW builders’ warranty scheme names broker distributors

Insurance and Care NSW (icare) has unveiled the chosen distributors for its Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF).

Offers have been made to 24 brokers, which will begin operating from October 3.

Building contractors whose broker is no longer on the panel will need to appoint a distributor from the panel by September 29.

The brokers are: Action Insurance Brokers; Ballina Insurance Brokers; Brookvale Insurance Brokers; Quattro Risk Services WEF; Finsura & HBW Wholesale; Insurance Brokers of NSW; Insurance House Group; SHC Insurance Brokers; Trans-West Insurance Brokers; CCM Insurance Group; The Builders Insurance Broker; MBA Insurance Services; Community Broker Network; Master Builders Insurance Services; Willis Towers Watson; Arthur J Gallagher; Bovill Risk & Insurance Consultants; Coverforce; HIA Insurance Services; Insurance Advisernet; Insurance Specialist Group; JLT; United Insurance Group; and Marsh Advantage.

icare has also introduced a new HBCF self-service portal, to give builders greater access to their policies.

HBCF GM Jon East says icare is bringing builders’ warranty insurance “into the digital age”.

“The portal gives builders a radically improved experience through streamlined real-time access to their insurance policy details, the ability to get quotes online, to lodge and track a new policy application, and have visibility of their own risk profile,” he said.
