TAL offers mental health program for claimants

TAL is to introduce Remedy Healthcare’s MindStep mental health program to its life insurance customers.

The insurer says mental health was among the top three causes of claims last year.

The optional program provides sessions with Remedy mental health coaches for customers making income protection claims associated with depression or anxiety.

It aims to increase motivation and improve mental wellbeing.

TAL Head of Mental Health Glenn Baird says the free program will provide additional support mechanisms to improve mindset and help return-to-work planning.

The seven-week scheme aims to complement the care customers receive from their GP, psychologist or psychiatrist.
