John O’Sullivan has been appointed to the AMP board as a non-executive director.

The former Credit Suisse executive chairman for investment banking and capital markets and Commonwealth Bank general counsel will join on June 20.

Interim Executive Chairman Mike Wilkins says Mr O’Sullivan’s appointment is part of the rebuild at AMP, which is reeling from a misconduct scandal.

Mr O’Sullivan will lead the board committee working on regulation and legal matters.
