…while Lloyd’s plans program to advance women

Lloyd’s will run a six-month pilot program from January to develop female leaders in the London market and the wider industry.

“Like many financial service [operations], insurance shows an equal number of men and women at the entry levels,” Lloyd’s says in a statement.

“However, this representation does not translate at the senior levels. Hence the need to take targeted action.”

The Lloyd’s Advance program will provide development, access to experts and role models, and networking opportunities aimed at supporting female participants’ careers.

The initial cohort will feature 15 women. Each organisation wishing to nominate a potential leader is also being asked to put forward a sponsor, as well as a mentor who will be matched to another participant.
