Global broker Gallagher is among the world’s best employers, according to Forbes.

It has placed 344th in the magazine’s top 500 – the only insurance brokerage to make the cut.

The US business publication’s list is based on an independent analysis of 360,000 responses from employees.

Other industry players on the list include Reinsurance Group of America (97), General Insurance Corporation of India (106), MetLife (217) Allianz (267) and Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance parent Berkshire Hathaway (380).

“We are very proud to be recognised by Forbes for what we think has been in our DNA since my grandfather started the business in 1927,” Chairman and CEO Patrick Gallagher said.

“The fact we are the only insurance brokerage company recognised makes us even prouder. No matter which geography our employees work from, we want each individual to be themselves, grow with us and drive a positive impact. That’s the Gallagher way.”

Google parent Alphabet has been named best employer for the second consecutive year, followed by Microsoft and Apple.
